Greenslade Park

The playground has a new name! It is now Greenslade Park - named after Captain Gordon Greenslade who is Portreath's oldest indigenous citizen.

There was great excitement in the village as we waited for Ty to complete the filming in the park ...

We all gathered outside and watched as the camera swung around ...

and then there was an official opening (well there was a lot of clapping) and the children were allowed in to try the new equipment ...

Gordon Greenslade was there to watch it all ...

and then Ty was off into the play area to chat to the children and watch them playing ...

The camera and sound man were kept very busy following him around ...

Check out the swings before here ... and this is the view of the swings now ...

We understand that it will be on tv late August but not sure of the dates at the moment. Apparently it will be over a period of a week on UK Style? possibly. Will let you know as soon as we do.

So glad you like my blog!

We just watched the show here in the US and my grandson and I decided to look it up on the internet, and we found your blog. My grandson says he wants to go play in that playground, but it's a long way away from California...lol! It turned out wonderful, and I hope it brings your community many years of enjoyment.

Jill...:-)

Hi Jill and Grandson,

So glad you found my blog and also enjoyed the show on TV. The park is still looking good and the kids love it. Sorry it's so far away for you to play in!
