Walk in Tehidy

With a couple of hours of free time this afternoon I took Hamish to Tehidy Country Park for a walk.  Once parked we began by walking alongside the Tehidy Golf course and thankfully there were no wayward shots today!

Unfortunately I was too late to get a coffee and cake at the Cafe as it was closed so we walked around to look at the lake before re-tracing our steps back to the car …

Walk Along the North Cliffs

With Hamish on the passenger seat of the Mini I drove us along the North Cliffs road and parked in the first car park that I came to.  The weather was a bit ‘iffy’ but we chanced it and began to walk towards Godrevy.  Looking back to Portreath I think rain may be visiting them but thankfully we were still dry …

I went as far as I could on a decent path.  It then became a mud-bath so I turned around and re-traced my steps.  Someone was paddling and the skies were clearing …

The colours in the heather were amazing and my photo doesn’t really do them justice …

Once back at the car we drove to Hell’s Mouth Cafe where I treated myself to a very yummy clotted cream and blackcurrant ice-cream and Hamish enjoyed a drink of water.  After our short break at the cafe we popped across the road and took a look at Hell’s Mouth …

Spending Time with the Boys

It was nice to have some time with Jamie and Phill and we came in useful as dog sitters!  On Saturday they had tickets to the Silver Ring at Royal Ascot and left the house suitably attired and carrying their new picnic set …

Verulamium Park, St Albans.

On our last Sunday in Luton we were driven to St Albans for a walk around the Verulamium Park.

It was lovely weather and the park was very busy.  Half-way round we stopped at the Inn on the Park for coffee and then continued on our way.  Near the end of our walk I found these Roman wall remains and in the distance you can see St Albans Abbey …

Help from the AA then a Trip out in the RV

Yesterday was spent at Trago Mills where we found lots of bargains.  When we got back I tried to start the motorhome but found we had a completely flat battery!  At some stage the leisure battery had been switched over to the vehicle one and bingo – one flat battery.  Nobody had any jump leads so first thing this morning I rang the AA and a chap was soon out to help us …

With the engine running again we decided to take the motorhome out today to give it a good run.  We set off to Croyde and as we arrived it began to rain. So while the boys went for a walk on the beach with the dogs Mike and I had lunch.  It was a very difficult walk down to the sand so I left Mike in the rv and collecting Hamish from Jamie and Phill, I made my way down on my own.
