To Pewsey to Meet Fellow Bloggers!

Monday morning and not quite such an early start to the day. I must say I was really pleased to be leaving this site- think you've guessed we won't be returning!

We had a lovely drive south and once again the traffic was fine. We were booked into a site that we hadn't used before in a small village north of Pewsey called Oare. What a difference! It was quiet, clean, tidy and friendly. They even had a Westie called Hamish which meant it had to be good! After sorting out our pitch and having lunch we took our Hamish on a long walk in the hopes of finding the Kennet and Avon canal. We got close but never saw it! During our travels we'd seen loads of cowslips growing on the roadside but I couldn't photograph them as we were on the move. These were on the lane near Oare ...

Hamish was keen to get back and I thought we might have to carry him as we'd walked him so far but he made it under his own steam. The weather was great although apparently they'd had a lot of rain during the night and the field was quite soggy. Hamish and Mike flaked out with a cuppa after the walk ...

After dinner we'd arranged to meet up with John and Fiona on their narrowboat Epiphany so we drove down to Pewsey Wharf where they have a mooring. It was lovely to meet some fellow Bloggers and after showing us around their home on the water - which was absolutely beautiful - we moved on to the Waterfront Inn for a drink. This is Fiona ...

They were lovely people and we chatted away as if we'd known them for ages! We arranged to meet up again when we return to the area in June.
