Surprise Visit on Homeward Journey

It's Sunday and the day of our return home to Cornwall. We were up bright and early so set off just after 9.30am aiming for Sourton Services as a coffee stop. We knew that the Cornwall MX-5's were on a run today and would be lunching somewhere in or near St Breward, so when we saw the sign to the village we turned off the A30 and took the chance that we might stumble across them. We didn't have to go very far and there they were, all parked up ...

and picnicking in the lee of a stone wall. A quick sandwich was made and the chairs were pulled out so that we could join them ...

It was soon time for them to move on as their afternoon run would be taking them to the North Coast and through the 'Doc Martin' village of Port Isaac before ending at Trelawney Garden Centre, nr Wadebridge and we still had an hour's driving to do before we arrived home in Portreath. After a big wave from everyone ...

we set off passing a few ponies on the way ...
