Evening on the Water

Each year on the Friday night of Falmouth Week the MX-5 Club book a boat for a trip on the Fal and at the end of the evening we watch a fantastic firework display. The weather forecast was not good and we'd had several heavy downpours during the day so we set off with all our wet-weather gear and were expecting the worst. We needn't have worried though because it remained dry all evening and we had a great time.

We began the evening by taking some spectators of the Falmouth Marine Band over to St Mawes, passing the Castle ...

with the band itself following on another boat. After leaving them at the Quay ...

we motored back out into the Carrick Roads and made our way up river towards Truro. We passed the Coastguard vessel The Anglian Princess ...

moved on up past the Roseland ...

and crept past some yachts on the Visitors Pontoon ...

By now it was getting pretty dark so we turned around to get back to Falmouth in time for the fireworks at 10pm. It was quite breezy so we all wrapped up warm ...

The firework display was as good as ever ...

no I didn't take that one - mine were rubbish!
