Falmouth and Porthleven

The family were determined to take Pam out for a day while they were in Cornwall and now she has a scooter we thought we'd venture a bit further afield to Porthleven. We began the day as we always do with a drive to Falmouth for coffee and toasted teacakes. We sat out on the balcony ignoring the very slight rain and watched a three-masted schooner while she manoeuvred in the harbour ...

Then after a quick trip into Trago we were back in the cars and off up to Pendennis Point, stopping on the way to see what this big RORO ferry was ...

At the Point ...

It was now time to head over to Porthleven where we were surprised how easily we found parking spaces (free in the car park as the machine wasn't working!!) and with Pam's scooter out and her onboard we were zooming off to the harbourside ...

We walked as far as the Ship Inn and watched a family who were crabbing below us ...

Very successfully too ...

Then after a wander around the other side of the harbour we found a fish and chip shop which had only just begun trading on the road out of the village and we got the most delicious lunch ...

It was then back to the cars and off to Portreath where we dropped Pam home and the kids all went down to the beach for ice-creams. Later in the afternoon we all went to the campsite for a cream tea with scones freshly made by Jo - very yummy.

Jamie then entertained us all with 'Little Bunny Foo Foo' - hilarious!
