I'm back on this blog again after a week of entries on Broadland Holidays.
We set off from Norfolk in dull weather and the further west we drove the better the weather became. We tend to use the route which takes us down the A11 until we reach the turn-off for the A505, then head across country to Luton, down the M1, the M25 and then the M4. It is not far then down the A350 to the campsite. All was going so well until we reached junction 8 of the M1. Traffic was at a standstill so we left the motorway and found our way to Watford and the M25. It turns out that the M1 northbound was completely closed and two lanes southbound were closed. There was a man on a gantry threatening to jump!
We finally arrived late afternoon in brilliant sunshine. After supper and watching the last episode of Springwatch we took Hamish for a walk along the towpath where there were many more boats moored than a couple of weeks ago. The willow work on this one took my eye ...
and there was a family of Canada Geese ...
The best part of the walk was the sun setting ...
It was beautiful.
