Saturday at Bodmin

Jo had spotted a 2 4 1 offer in our local paper and so the first destination of the day was to Pinsla Garden. It was a lovely small garden set around the owners' home ...

We strolled around it and although the colours were vibrant now we were told that the best time to see it was in August. No doubt we will be back. They very cleverly put little features in amongst the plants and it was great fun spotting them. Here is just a small selection of the photos that I took.

After leaving the Gardens we drove just up the road to Cardinham Woods so that the dogs could have a run. We parked up, set off across the bridge ...

and began the circular walk ...

With the river flowing below us ...

it was inevitable that we'd cross it again before reaching the car park. We walked across an ordinary bridge but just below the path was this beautiful clapper bridge ...

We had taken a picnic lunch with us and so we made use of the tables provided before making tracks back to the campsite.

After a very lazy afternoon we went to Bodmin Jail for a meal in the evening. This was somewhere that Jo really wanted to visit and it was dog-friendly which was a bonus. We were shown to our table and Hamish immediately settled down to sleep ...

We made our choices and the food was delicious. The men had steak and ale pie ...

while I had chicken wrapped in bacon in a red wine sauce ...

and Jo had a curry. The bread and butter pudding was to die for!

I was so full but determined not to leave any!! Just as we finished our meal the fire alarm sounded but nobody moved! The dogs were not liking the sound so Paul and I took them outside while the others settled the bill. Apparently a lady had set fire to a coat upstairs so it was nothing major - they just couldn't work out how to turn the alarm off! It was now what I call dimpsy outside and so the photos were quite moody. Paul and I had a wander round with me snapping away and then the others joined us.

It was then time to return to the campsite and coffee in the RV.
