After a very lazy start to the day Jamie cooked a fab brunch for all of us. We then needed to walk it off and so we loaded the cars with people and dogs and set off for Dunstable Downs. Once parked we began to walk down towards the Wind Catcher …
and then we turned right and made our way along the path …
It was a very steep drop down on our left …
but we carried on until we reached the knoll …
It was very windy and cold so we turned around and as we walked along we noticed that one of the gliders on the field below had been towed to the far end and had been launched …
It circled round and landed so we kept a look-out in case anything else went up. We weren’t disappointed as the next one was pulled up behind a tow plane …
We were soon back at the cafĂ©/shop and enjoying a very welcome coffee while we watched some men flying kites. They were doing synchronised flying and they never seemed to get the lines tied up in knots – amazing!
It was then time to go back home and Jamie and Phill cooked us all a roast chicken dinner which was delicious. Simon, Vikki and the kids said their farewells and headed back south and we all set to with the washing up as the dishwasher decided to keep tripping the electrics! Not a good sign and could be dangerous.
