and a nosey brown and white cow ...
Back on the site I took a photo of their housewarming present. We'd bought a hedgehog garden ornament when we'd gone to Pinsla Garden and also got a mixture of herbs from B&Q ...
We knew they had a small garden and thought that the herbs could all go in a large pot. We woke to a lovely sunny day on Saturday but the RV was in the shade!
We decided that on our return home we'd choose a different side of the site and hopefully be in the sunshine. The drive up was pretty good apart from around Stonehenge when we were stuck behind a brand new motorbike being driven at 40mph! It was a wonder that he didn't cause an accident because everyone was trying to get past him. I'd done a route plan to the house on the AA website but for once it let me down. I've never had a problem with them before but it wanted us to go down a road that Simon said he wouldn't take his car down let alone an RV! I had to phone him and he talked us in and we parked on his driveway and hooked up to his electric! It was FA Cup Final day so we watched most of the match hoping that Pompey could win but unfortunately it wasn't to be. Jamie, Phill and Ozzie arrived late afternoon and while Jamie looked at our local paper, the West Briton, Phill took on a challenge from Ellie on the swingball ...
We'd taken up the kids' wetsuits as we were hoping that Vikki's daughter Sara would fit into the smallest one, with the boys moving up a size and Ellie getting a new one this year. They tried them on and they seemed to fit okay ...
With the footie finished Simon went out to the BBQ only to find that the gas had run out! Vikki's mum had lent it to them and so she went off to find a garage that sold gas. The BBQ was a bit later than anticipated but Simon soon got down to the job of burning the burgers and sausages! Oops sorry Simon that should be cooking the burgers and sausages!!
It was a great spread and we finished our meal with some cupcakes made by Vikki's friend ...
She has started a business called The Campervan Cupcake Company. The website is being designed but check her out on Facebook. The cakes were absolutely delicious! During the evening I looked up and spotted this balloon flying over us ...
The following morning we were treated to a fabulous fried breakfast before setting off on our homeward journey. We reached Five Acres and chose a pitch on the other side of the site ...
Very handy for the facilities! This morning we drove up the lane to the A303 ...
and then after a short stop at Sourton Services where a helicopter flew over us ...
we continued on to Cornwall. A lovely weekend with the family and we were so pleased we made it up for the party.
