Start Point and Kingsbridge

One of the places we all wanted to visit was the Start Point Lighthouse and so we set off this morning heading in that direction. We arrived at the car park, handed over our money and set off on the long walk down to the Point. Fab views ...

About half way we found a very helpful sign! Only 462 miles from Jo and Paul's static!

As we arrived at the lighthouse a lady was closing the gate and another visitor told us that it was closed! Apparently the lady had been quite rude to him as she said there was a sign at the top telling everybody of this fact. We took photos to prove we'd been there but were very disappointed that we couldn't get in ...

We then began the long walk back ...

and I looked on the gate at the top but there didn't appear to be any information about closure ...

Paul had a chat with the chap on car park duty and he didn't know either!! So off we went to Kingsbridge where we parked on the car park on the far side of this photo ...

We sat and had our picnic lunch with this lovely view ...

After a walk through the town and a quick visit to Morrisons we returned to the campsite where we sat out in the sun and Hamish enjoyed the shade of our umbrella ...
