Another Tehidy Walk

This time we parked in East Lodge car park and began by crossing Cot Road and walking down the Mineral Tramways track which we'd watched being surfaced a while ago but had never had a chance to visit. It took us parallel to the road and back towards Portreath and is a perfect cycling route. There were a few bluebells ...

and Hamish had to sit for his photo but this time he was on a stone seat ...

There were some lovely twisted trees ...

and as we passed field gates I looked through and could see Carn Brea in the distance ...

We then arrived at the back of Gwel an Mor ...

and with St Agnes Beacon on the horizon ...

we turned around and made our way back to the road.

Crossing back over we set off through Tehidy woods and came to the edge of Tehidy Golf course ...

About 26 years ago Simon played at Tehidy in a Junior Competition and so I sent him the photo on my phone and asked him where we were and which hole was it. The reply came straight back - 12th at Tehidy!! I was amazed - he was so close as it was the 11th hole and we were walking down beside the 12th! I then took another photo from the 13th tee looking over towards the Clubhouse ...

We then found ourselves in the woods that we'd walked the other day, so turned around and retraced our steps back to the car. There was a lovely glade of bluebells on the way ...
