Jamie and an Olympic Medal

No he didn’t win one!  He works for Maximuscle and the company sponsors various sports people.  While at work this week they had a visit from Greg Rutherford who won the long jump gold medal at London 2012 and Jamie had his photo taken with him …

Woodland Walk at Trelissick

It’s Simon’s last day and the plan had been to go to Dartmoor and watch the Tour of Britain.  However Bradley Wiggins has pulled out with a stomach bug and Mark Cavendish has spent the last two days at the back of the pelaton so the decision was taken to stay in Cornwall, watch it on the television and to take Hamish for a walk at Trelissick.  This is somewhere that Simon has never visited before and with good weather forecast and picnic food already bought, it seemed a good idea.  We set off just before lunch, parked on the grass and had our picnic …

Jo and Paul arrived soon after with Fred and we set off across the field heading for the Woodland Walk …

We had to pass a herd of cows which is something my mother would never have done bless her.  She was absolutely petrified of them!

Once in the wood we had a leisurely stroll with glimpses of the river …

When we reached the road we walked down to take a look at the King Harry Ferry.  We were told there was a hidden jetty and it gave us a perfect view of the ferry.  There was a wedding party in two VW campers aboard and there was plenty of tooting of horns!

After watching the ferry cross again we walked back up the hill to Trelissick and after entering by the water tower we found a table outside the cafe and enjoyed a very welcome coffee …

St Agnes Head

We wanted to go out for a walk this morning and thought we’d combine it with a trip for Pam.  The weather first thing was a bit damp but undeterred we set off for St Agnes Head with raincoats.  The nearer we got the better the weather became and we parked up under a blue sky.  There was a chap on the cliffs with his model plane …

Lunch at The Pandora Inn

Simon has come back to Cornwall on his own for a few days holiday and today he drove us to The Pandora Inn at Restronguet Creek for lunch.  Eighteen months ago the 13th Century pub was ravaged by fire but today it was looking fantastic in the sunshine.  We sat out on the pontoon and enjoyed our drinks and food.

In the afternoon Simon got kitted up for a cycle ride and he rode the Coast to Coast route.  He shot past so fast I only just managed to catch a glimpse of him!!
