Harbour Fun Day

We were woken early this morning by the many workers who were setting up the stands ready for Harbour Fun Day. One minute it was deserted ...

and the next it was teeming with people ...

I spotted this chap on stilts over on the other side of the harbour ...

and then I found him walking past our house so Hamish had to say hello to Mop Dog ...

One of the first entertainments of the day were the Belly Dancers ...

and then we had some Majorettes ...

and finally the Line Dancers ...

Hamish spent the day on our veranda watching everyone walk past him and feeling a bit left out bless him ...

Once the tide began to come in there was a tender race ...

and this is a photo of Colin who is normally behind the lens and taking photos of everyone else ...

Simon and the grandchildren are staying for a couple of weeks and they had great fun today. They had a go at the free colouring stand ...

Ellie proved herself on the slippery pole by dumping both her brother and her father onto the mat!

Jack enjoyed playing with a puppet dog ...

and at the end of the day they all went in the sea with their body boards and came home covered in sand to be hosed down in the garden ...

It was a good day's entertainment and it didn't rain until right at the end. x

We were passing through Portreath on the Sunday morning but couldn't stay longer; we had come down to watch the Pirates play Redruth the day before. SOH would have liked to stay longer but one day we will go back to his roots, we have, as Baldrick would say, a cunning plan.

Hope you had a good day, shame we haven't had much of a Summer.
