Wyevale, Surfing and a BBQ

A short time ago Pam had a sort out of her garden pots and had requested a trip to a garden centre to find some nice new shrubs to go in them. So this morning we all piled into the boys' car and set off for Wyevale at Hayle. Why did we choose Wyevale? It passed 'Down the Line' the surf shop with pretty pink body boards for sale of course!! Pam found some really nice plants and after loading them in the car we stopped in the cafe for a coffee and toasted teacake - sound familiar? You can't beat them though with loads of naughty butter on!

It was then time to go to the surf shop to get my board and I had a choice of three colours - pink, blue or lemon. Although the blue one would have gone with my new wetsuit I loved the pink one and so pink it was. Mike found himself some new wetsuit shoes and Phill got some boots.

After dropping Pam back home and having a quick bite of toast we changed ready for the beach. Jo and Mel (our lovely new friend and teacher of Pilates) were all joining us for a surf at Gwithian today with Paul as chief photographer. The boys were hiring a 'proper' board and we were just going to have a play around with our body boards in the surf. Mel had never body boarded before and had a fear of the water but she was soon having great fun and did really well for a first timer ...

I loved my new board and being a Slick I was zooming in so much quicker than before ...

We finally decided to call it a day and went back to the beach tent for a hot drink and the girls had a pose for the camera!

We'd all been invited to Jo and Paul's in the evening for a BBQ and the talk was of how much we'd enjoyed ourselves and how addicted we'd become to surfing!

It was a great end to a fab day.
