Wheels of Wadebridge 2010

It's quite a while since we've done anything with the MX-5 Club and we were praying for fine weather as last year we sat at Wheels and watched as the rain fell. We began the day with the top down but as soon as we reached the A30 and met up with Jo and Paul we had to put the roof up as it was drizzly. Thinking positively we drove over to Wadebridge and after meeting up with six other cars we drove in convoy to the showground. It was far too windy for the events tent to go up but two more cars arrived just in time for my photo of us all lined up ...

Needless to say as soon as I stepped out of the car it began to rain! There were a few small breaks in the cloud so we decided it was coffee-time and then hopefully the rain would clear. Amazingly it did! We went for a walk around the Show where we saw the usual mix of cars ...

motorbikes ...

steam engines ...

train rides ...

and entertainment ...

By lunchtime we had got out the chairs and were all sitting out while people admired our cars!

Jo had the umbrella up purely to keep the wind at bay!

Apparently our leaders signed up about six new members to the Club which is great news and everyone had a good time. It does help if you take a book to read though as it can get a bit boring for us ladies who don't want to discuss the ins and outs of what is under the bonnet!!
