St Agnes Beacon

It seemed such a good idea when I woke up this morning to find blue sky and what looked like a nice day! I emailled Jo and asked her if they fancied walking the dogs at St Agnes Beacon and they said it was a great idea so long as Paul could call in at Aztec Camping so he could buy some caravan cleaner. No problem. So at eleven o'clock they arrived to pick us up and we decided to do the shopping first. After Aztec we drove back through St Agnes and on up to the Beacon where we parked and covered ourselves in extra layers of clothing.

We began the walk up the hill and the wind was getting stronger and stronger. I stopped to take a photo and had no idea if it would be okay or blurred as I couldn't stop my hand from shaking in the wind!

The dogs were off their leads and having a great time charging on ahead of us ...

When we reached the top it was difficult to breathe as it was blowing so hard. Hamish and Fred had their fur blown flat against their heads ...

and the others were putting a brave face on as I pointed a camera at them ...

It is a fantastic view from here ...

but after looking at the directions on the top of the Beacon, where apparently on a clear day you can see 23 miles of coast and 32 church towers, we began to make our way down the far side and enjoyed a brief spell out of the wind.

We saw a lovely rainbow ...

and then made our way back down to the car. We were exhausted from battling against the wind but very exhilarated after our walk.
