Easter Egg Hunt

Unlike last year when the Easter Egg Hunt had to be postponed, we awoke to blue skies and the perfect day for digging on the beach.

The children went down to register at one o'clock but no amount of persuasion would encourage Cameron to register so it was just Jack and Ellie who were to take part. Cameron decided he'd have a snooze and a sunbathe instead!

We arrived at the beach just before two o'clock when the fun was due to begin and the children were waiting on the outside of the roped-off area ...

As soon as they got the word they all dived under the rope and began to dig frantically ...

Hidden just below the surface were red plastic balls with a number on each and when found they were returned to the organisers and exchanged for a chocolate egg. There were a stack all ready for collection ...

Jack and Ellie kept trying to find one but both were unsuccessful even when the organisers tried to help by telling them that the eggs were laid in the pattern of a cross ...

and the Marshalls showed them where to dig ...

When the children had registered they were each given a badge to wear and when they had given up searching or when all the balls had been found, they took their badge back and were given an egg. Unfortunately as Cameron had refused to register he couldn't collect an egg to take home but Jack and Ellie were very pleased with theirs ...

It was all good fun and at the end there was a raffle for a giant fluffy rabbit ...

Well done Camborne and Redruth District Lions Club for organising a great annual event ...
